About this policy
Penotu - Cine Walk (“Penotu Cine”, “the app”) is a free app provided at no cost and intended for use as is. This page explains what information the app handles, where it is kept, and which third-party services are involved. By using the app you agree to the handling of information described here. What you create stays on your device
Everything you put into the app is stored in the app's own storage on your iPhone — a local, on-device database and the app's private folder:
- Profile: your name, an optional profile photo, height, weight and daily step goal. BMI is calculated on the device from these values.
- Journeys: the note you write, up to five photos, the optional title you pin, and the day's measurements saved with it.
This user-created content — profile, journeys, notes, photos, pinned titles and health stats — is never uploaded to us or to anyone else. There is no account, no sign-in and no server of ours that could hold it, so we cannot see, access or recover it. Deleting a journey removes it and its photos; deleting the app removes everything the app stored.
Apple Health (HealthKit)
With your permission, the app reads the following from Apple Health:
- Step count
- Walking + running distance
- Active energy
- Exercise time
The app only reads this data; it never writes anything back to Apple Health. The values are processed on your device to show your daily progress ring and hour-by-hour activity, and to save the day's numbers with a journey you choose to keep.
Health data is never uploaded, never sold, never shared with third parties (including the services listed below), and never used for advertising, marketing or data mining. You can change or revoke access at any time in the Settings app under Health › Data Access & Devices.
Photos
When you add a photo to a journey or to your profile, you pick it with the iOS photo picker. Only the photos you choose are copied into the app's private storage on your device; the app does not browse, modify or upload your photo library. The copies stay on the device and are removed when you delete the journey or the app. You can manage photo access in the Settings app under Privacy & Security › Photos.
Film data and trailers
TMDB
Film and series information, posters and artwork come from The Movie Database (TMDB) API. When you browse or search, the app sends TMDB the request it needs — for example your search text and the app language — and, as with any internet request, TMDB receives your device's IP address. The app attaches no account, identifier, journey or health data to these requests. The title you pin to a journey is saved on your device only.
YouTube
Trailers play through YouTube's official embedded player (YouTube IFrame Player API). When you open a trailer, the player is loaded from YouTube, which is operated by Google. Google may receive information such as your IP address and device or browser details, and may use cookies or similar technologies, according to the Google Privacy Policy. The app does not host, download or stream full films or episodes.
Third-party services
The app uses, or may use, the third-party services below. Each one may collect information used to identify you and handles it under its own privacy policy:

None of these services receive your journeys, notes, photos, pinned titles, profile or Apple Health data.
Log Data
If the app runs into an error, it may collect data and information about the problem through third-party products such as Firebase Crashlytics. This Log Data may include your device's Internet Protocol (IP) address, device model, operating system version, the app's configuration at the time, the time and date of the error, and other diagnostic statistics. Log Data never includes your journeys, notes, photos, pinned titles, profile or health data.
Security
Your content is kept inside the app's sandbox on your device, protected by iOS and by your device passcode. Requests to TMDB and YouTube are made over encrypted HTTPS connections. Information handled by the third-party services above is protected according to their own policies. No method of electronic storage or transmission over the internet is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
- Turn Apple Health access on or off at any time: Settings › Health › Data Access & Devices.
- Change photo access: Settings › Privacy & Security › Photos.
- Delete any journey in the app, or delete the app to remove everything it stored on your device.
- Contact us with any request about information handled by the services listed above, and we will help you reach the right provider.
Links to other sites
The app and this site may link to other websites, such as TMDB's and YouTube's terms. Those sites are not operated by us, and we have no control over and assume no responsibility for their content, privacy policies or practices. Please review their privacy policies.
Children's privacy
The app is made for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information through the app or one of the services listed above, contact us and we will take the necessary steps to have it removed.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are posted on this page with a new effective date, so please review it periodically.
